Linda's obituary
Linda Sue Poole left this world suddenly on Friday, November 18th, 2022 at the age of 74. Throughout her life, Sue was a caring and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend.
On June 12, 1948 in Boonville, Missouri, Sue was born to Carlos and Evelyn White. When she was a young girl, the family moved to Idalou, Texas where Sue attended grade school until they moved back to Missouri. In 1975, Sue and her family moved to Denton, Texas where she became a carrier for the United States Postal Service in 1976. Sue moved back to Idalou in 1995 and continued to work for the Postal Service until her retirement in 2011.
Sue loved the Church and loved God. She was a strong woman of faith and a long-time member of the Idalou Church of Christ. Besides her love for God, Sue’s greatest love throughout her life was the love she held for her family and friends. She was an extremely giving woman who would give you her all even if she didn’t have much to give. She would always say where there was a will, there was a way and the good Lord would provide. She may not have always been graceful in doing such, but she always got things done. She was a big kid at heart who enjoyed puzzles, Diet Coke, fishing, being on a boat and in the water, laughing and visiting with people, and Elvis Presley. Some of her most precious moments were spent with family and friends, traveling, and living life to its fullest. She was a provider, a listening ear, a soft hand to hold, a peacemaker, a caregiver, a fixer, a defender, and a rock for so many…so many things to so many people. She was a reflection of God’s love.
Sue is survived by her two daughters, Jennifer Bowers and Sonya Hornsby (and her husband Paul); 5 grandchildren Hunter Bates (and his wife Tabitha), Caelum Bates, Azlynn Tucker, Deric Hornsby, and Jameson Hornsby; 2 great-grandchildren, Zelda and Baby Bates; along with countless nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father Carlos and Evelyn White; her 4 siblings, Kay Bowers, Dwain White, Nancy Repp, and Sandy White; and husband Clarence Dean Bowers.
Services for Sue will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 3rd, 2022 at Idalou Church of Christ at 307 Chestnut St in Idalou. Flowers for the service can be sent directly to Idalou Church of Christ. Donations for funeral expenses are also being taken on everloved.com.
