Linda Eileen Pickett, 72, passed away in her sleep surrounded by family after a battle with kidney disease, at her home in Mount Vernon on May 24, 2023. She is survived by her loving husband Brad, sister Annette Evanson, children Carrie (Jim) Crabbe, Josh (Malia) Pickett, Jon (Rhonda) Pickett, grandchildren Lilly, Tyler, Jack, Zoe, Airanna, Giovanni, Lucca, and numerous nieces and nephews and grand-nieces and grand-nephews. Linda graduated from Milliken High School in Long Beach, California. She was married to Brad for over 41 years and they grew Modern Cleaners and voted Best Dry Cleaner of Skagit County in the early 1990s. Her passion was working with the downtown business community of Mount Vernon and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Her hobbies and interest included flower gardening, especially growing sweet peas, book group and reading with First Lutheran Church, and Toastmasters International, where she learned how to be a public speaker and be a better version of herself. She enjoyed going to the library and checking out books to read, rearranging furniture, and home decorating. She especially loved antiquing and thrifting in search of treasures. A celebration of life is still being planned. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Toastmasters International or to the National Kidney Foundation.
