Linda's obituary
Linda Ann Nordby Carpenter was born on December 4, 1946, in Lewiston, Idaho. Growing up in Lewiston, Linda developed the values that guided her life—faith, family, and community.
Linda attended the University of Idaho, where she graduated in 1969 with a bachelor’s degree in education, laying the foundation for a lifelong career devoted to teaching and nurturing young minds. While attending school, she met Mike Carpenter, and they were married in the summer of 1970.
Linda began her career in education in 1971, teaching elementary school and serving in various educational roles until 2018. She touched countless lives through her dedication to children and learning.
In addition to her professional career, Linda considered her greatest calling to be motherhood. She lovingly raised three sons, always placing her family at the center of her life.
Linda was deeply devoted to her faith and was actively involved in her church community. She shared her love of music through singing and playing the piano and participated in women’s groups. She was also involved in community outreach through ministry and other programs, where she demonstrated her compassion and empathy for others. Her creative spirit was evident in her love of arts and crafts, especially scrapbooking cherished memories for her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed camping, fishing, and sewing.
Linda is survived by her loving husband, Mike; her three sons, Chad, Eric, and Bryan; six grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
Linda was a devoted wife, a loving mother and grandmother, and a friend to all. She cherished her family and friends deeply and will be profoundly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She passed away peacefully on the morning of February 3, 2026, in Chandler, Arizona.
