Linda's obituary

Linda Nikki Wells (Bonfili) was smart, creative, and lived as wild and free as she could. She hunted, fished, and knew her way around a boat. She loved her animals, the ocean, and never passed up a good yard sale. She could tell a story about the wildest things—some true, some not. It was always up to you to figure that out. She often talked about writing a book. Those of us who knew her well wish she had, because it would have been unforgettable.

To know Nikki was to experience life a little less conventionally. She didn’t follow the expected path, but she showed us how to be resilient and independent. Always understanding, a great listener, and never one to pass judgment. She had a way of leaving you with just enough guidance to figure things out for yourself. She leaves behind a life that refuses to be easily summed up and somehow, that feels exactly right. A numbers lady, she would have had something to say about the date she left us (3.19), and it likely would have gone straight onto her lottery list.

She passed away at the age of 76 and is survived by her husband, Larry Wells; her dog, Xena; and her three children: Jess (Mike) Wilkeson, Lance (Lauren) Grieb, and Sarah Grieb; as well as 3 grandchildren.
