Linda Elizabeth (Riisager) Nece was born in Tyler, MN, on December 5, 1948, sadly passed away Monday, May 31st at 8:16PM due to an Infection that went septic and her body was unable to beat the blood infection. Linda was the youngest of 7 children born to Morris and Vera Riisager, and grew up around Tyler and Ruthton, MN, before moving to the Twin Cities area following her marriage to Gary Nece from Ruthton, MN. Together they had one child, a son, Troy Nece. Linda worked as a Data Center Operator for the Minneapolis Public Schools for several decades before retiring in 2011.They divorced in 2014. Linda continued to reside at her home in Brooklyn Park, MN, where she loved to assist those in need, including giving loved ones temporary housing, and generally just anytime anyone really needed anything, whether that be a literal helping hand or a loving listening ear. She was one of Jehovah’s Witnesses and was very active in her faith, sharing the hope she had with others whenever possible. Linda fought 2 different types of cancers very bravely: uterine cancer, followed by breast cancer, about 10 years later. She fortunately went into remission with both as recently as April 2021. Best known for her laughs and hugs by so many.  Her loving, caring, and generous spirit and love of life itself will be missed by all. She longingly looked forward to being in that wonderful Paradise that God has promised us, so we await her return to a healthy and vibrant life in that New World to come, where she’ll be surrounded by so many wonderful things, including panda bears and butterflies she treasured so dearly.

She is survived by: One son, Troy Nece, of Phoenix, AZ (wife Jo); 3 brothers: Ronald Riisager (wife Donna) of Elk River, MN; Gary Riisager (wife Joan) of Foreston, MN; and Christian Riisager (wife Gail) of Gable, SC; sisters-in-law Joyclyn (Joycie) (Nece) (husband Robert) Harbo of Fairmont, MN; Ruth Anne (Comstock) (husband Eugene) Nece of Glen Ellyn, IL; LaDonna (husband Delbert) May of North Branch, MN; brother-in-law Donald (wife Darlene) Wiederholt;  1 “grand puppy”, Mara; and plethora of nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by: her father, Morris Riisager; mother Vera (Petersen) Riisager; sister Myrna (Riisager) (husband Dennis) Schentzel; 2 brothers: Earl (wife Vicki) Riisager of Blaine, MN; and Carl (wife Sharon) Riisager of Joshua, TX; 3 brothers-in-law: Eugene (wife Ruth Anne) Nece of Glen Ellyn, IL; Robert (wife Joyclyn) Harbo of Fairmont, MN; Donald and wife Barbara Nece of Scottsdale, AZ; and a sister-in-law, Darlene (husband Donald) Wiederholt of Milltown, WI; and 1 niece, Shelly Jo Riisager.
