Personal note from Linda’s Daughter Rhonda

Some things I would like people to know about my mom. Her family meant the world to her. Gatherings were what made her happy. Especially when it involved children. She loved babies.
My mom made a huge difference in the lives of others and the stories keep surfacing from other people. She was a volunteer for the Hospice Center. We were told that when she came in, she always asked for the toughest cases. The ones no one else wanted.

She also worked at Bethany House to help with the homeless people of the city. She taught us to care for others throughout this time as we personally sponsored a family through the Christmas season one year.

As a probation officer, my mom was one who always focused forward with her clients. She had a genuine heart for helping people to clear their definition of themselves and redefine their future. She taught them to see their future differently. She has shared stories of people who’s lives were completely changed. She had a great reputation even amongst those who were on probation as she was always fair, just, and honest in her decisions.

Everyone knows my Mom loved Disney World. I don’t even know how many times she has been there. 1989 was the first trip and 2021 was her final trip. There were many return trips in between. Some of them were completely impulsive just to get out of the cold weather in Wisconsin.

As children we share many memories. I have always respected that my mom always provided for us children. She was a single mom most of our lives. Although we didn’t have a lot, we were always well cared for. Mom worked it out for us all to be a part of the Marquis Drum and Bugle Corps. For all of us, this was a life changing experience that definitely enriched our growing up years. It probably gave her relief as well as we were gone a lot either practicing or performing across the country.

I could go on about her as she made a huge contribution to my life and the lives of others but now I would love to hear everyone else’s stories. Please add a note of your own. Thank you.
