Linda's obituary
Linda Meyers Friend, born on October 1, 1953, in Walla Walla, Washington, at General Hospital. Linda’s early years were spent in Walla Walla, where she attended Green Park Elementary School, Pi Hi Jr High, DeSales High School, and Walla Walla High School, graduating with the Class of 1971. During her high school years, she was a member of the Walla Walla Wagonettes.
In the fall of 1976, after a chapter in Yakima, Washington, Linda embarked on a bold new journey to Alaska with her beloved daughter, Terra. They made a home together in Anchorage and the scenic Kenai Peninsula. In 1987, Linda and Terra returned to Washington State, settling in the charming town of Anacortes. Linda and Terra also lived in Portland, OR before returning to Walla Walla.
Linda married Patrick Friend in 1988, and though their paths eventually diverged, she continued to embrace life with determination. Her family includes her daughter, Terra Suzanne Riggs of Walla Walla, and her sister, Lezlie Cavanaugh (Carl) of Flagstaff, Arizona. Linda was also blessed with a lifelong friendship with her dearest companion, Debra “Bert” Cox, whose bond with her began in elementary school and remained unwavering.
Linda is also survived by her cousin Kelley Combs of Maryville, WA along with Aunts, Uncles and other cousins throughout the US as well as her nephew Jesse Westbrook of Tokyo, Japan.
Linda’s legacy is one of strength, love, and connection—a testament to the lives she touched and the memories she created. Linda was preceded in death by her stepfather Donald H Meyers, mother Suzanne Theresa Combs, Brother Donny Lee Meyers and niece Autumn Rose Allbritton.
