Linda's obituary
Linda Meaders passed away on November 24, 2023 after a lengthy battle with various illnesses.
Linda was born on June 14, 1947 to James and Margaret Greenwood in Los Alamos, New Mexico. Her birth certificate listed a PO Box in Santa Fe as her birthplace given that Los Alamos was still a top secret base at the time. Her father was recruited rather clandestinely to be part of the Manhattan Project as a skilled machinist who built much of the internal workings of the first atomic bombs. Her mother taught music and served as a musician for churches and religious organizations in Los Alamos.
Linda graduated from Los Alamos High School in 1965. In addition to being a full time wife and mother, she owned and operated several secretarial businesses in the Santa Fe area. She also held many interesting positions for Los Alamos National Labs, Sandia Labs, Sunspot Solar, Nevada Department of Welfare, California Pharmacists Association, and many others as she followed her husband whose career sent them wandering over much of the western United States. Linda even operated the trolley for the City of Santa Fe, joking with tourists about the "annual sailing regatta" held on the Santa Fe river.
She followed in her mother's musical footsteps, playing the piano and organ at several churches over many years until curtailed by illness.
Linda loved dogs, and over the years she and Ken raised and rescued many.
Linda was predeceased by her parents. She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Kenneth Meaders; her two sons, Jon Meaders and Josh Meaders (his wife, Shanna); her brother, Charles Greenwood (his wife, Linda); and many nieces and nephews.
Linda lived an interesting, eventful life full of faith and love.
She loved God, her family, her dogs, and her charities. She was a loving wife and mother.
