Linda's obituary

Linda Lou Clark, wife, mother, friend and angel of this earth, has been chosen to shine bright amongst the stars for all of eternity, and shine bright she will, just as she always has. She was unexpectedly taken from us in the early morning hours of February 20, 2021.
Linda was born on July 23, 1957 in Hartland, ME. Shortly after her birth, her family moved to Houlton where she spent her childhood, until they landed in Brewer, which is where Linda planted her roots. She graduated from Brewer High School in 1975 and continued her education at Husson College, receiving her associate's degree in medical transcription in 1977. In 1980, she met the love of her life, Patrick, and shortly thereafter, they committed themselves to one another and were married on October 23, 1981.
She worked for a number of years at the Preschool Project until her and Pat decided to grow their family. When their family grew by two later in the 1980's, Linda dedicated herself whole-heartedly to being a loving wife and mother of two, and her selfless, committed love for her family carried through until her very final moments.
Once her children had grown a bit, Linda returned to work in 2001, and spent a number of years working in the kitchens of the Brewer School Department. She formed some very special friendships in her time there that carried on even after she chose to get done.
Linda had many things in her life that brought her joy, aside from her family. She lived for the days of soaking up the sun with a good book on the shores of Molasses Pond. She was also an avid cross-stitcher, crafting many, many beautiful pieces over the years. She loved singing - she frequently could be found in her kitchen baking while singing a tune. Cooking was another passion of hers - few things brought her greater joy than crafting a meal to bring her family around the table together at the end of a day, which was almost always followed by a sweet treat made with love by hers truly.
In more recent years, Linda developed quite a passion for the lights and sounds of the big city - New York City, to be exact. For over a decade, she made sure to visit at least annually; Macy's Thanksgiving Parade, Red Sox vs. Yankees games, the Rockettes and Rockefeller Center at Christmas are what kept drawing her back. It began as family trips, but when the boys decided the big city energy wasn't for them, it became tradition for her and her daughter to go at Christmastime. When she wasn't too busy planning her next trip to NYC, from early spring to late fall she found great enjoyment spending quality time with her husband riding their Harley Davidson all through the scenic backroads of Maine.
In early 2017, Linda was diagnosed with stage four metastatic breast cancer. But that diagnosis did not slow her down. Through chemotherapy, a number of surgeries, followed then by radiation, she never lost her light. She remained positive and strong no matter what was thrown her way. At the end of her days, it wasn't even the cancer that took her from us. Her mantra was always "glass half full" and she absolutely lived by it with her positive, selfless and warm light she shined upon those that crossed her path.
The loss of this beautiful human is felt by many, but most deeply by her family. She leaves behind her best friend and husband of almost 40 years, Patrick Clark. She will live on in the hearts of her two children, son Justin Clark and fiancee Emily, as well as her daughter Kelly Cormier and husband Matt. She was also a nana to a very special little boy in her life, the boy who put a twinkle into his nana's eye, her grandson Noah. Her 2 sassy, spritely fur babies, Holly and Angus, held a very special place in her heart as well. She will be remembered fondly and sorely missed by many other family members and friends alike.
In respect of Linda's wishes, there will be no funeral, but the family will be holding a celebration of life sometime in the summer with more details to be announced at a later time.
If you'd like to honor Linda's life in a special way, take the time to bake a cake, sing a tune, read a book, snuggle your pet a little extra or spend some quality time with your family. These are all things she loved very much and she would want others to make the time to enjoy as well.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a making a donation to your local humane society or the Good Shepherd Food Bank.
