Linda Rose King Watkins was born on June 7, 1949 in Sampson Co., NC and passed away peacefully at her home in Durham, NC on October 3, 2025. Linda was preceded in death by her parents Eddis and Eleanor King, brothers Eddis R. King Jr, Perry S. King and sister Vivian Elaine Langley. Linda was a shining light in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her. 

Linda is survived by her beloved daughters Karen Renee Griffitts (Shawn) of Tazewell, TN and Nicole Lynn Kubinsky (Michael) of Durham, NC, sisters Donna (John) Britt of Wilmington, NC, and Teresa (Ron) Lamb of Alexander City, AL and brothers Michael King (Carey) of Corbett, OR and Stanley King (Theresa) of Folsom, LA and many nieces and nephews. 

Linda was a dedicated employee of Duke University and loved the Duke Blue Devils. Although Linda's physical presence may no longer grace our lives, her spirit will continue to inspire and uplift us. May her memory be a blessing. 

 We will be planning a celebration of life at a later date.
