Linda's obituary
Linda A. Kadel of Mt. Arlington, NJ, passed away peacefully on January 31, 2025, at her home, surrounded by the love and comfort of her family.
Born in Brooklyn, NY, to the late Joseph and Edna Canterino, Linda made Mt. Arlington her home for 63 years. There, she built a life filled with love, family, and service. Linda's marriage to her beloved husband, Robert F. Kadel, Sr., spanned 55 years until his passing, and together they raised a family grounded in love and compassion.
Linda was a headstrong, outspoken woman who made her mark as a Senior Property Manager in NJ. Her attitude was one of confidence and strength, and she tackled challenges head-on with a no-nonsense approach that made her a respected and dynamic presence in her field. Her determination and sharp mind earned her admiration from colleagues, clients and the women in her family who looked up to her.
In addition to her professional achievements, Linda’s heart was as vast as her personality. She had a profound love for animals and opened her home to countless rescue animals over the years—cats, dogs, birds, reptiles, and probably a few she kept hidden from her husband, Robert, much to his bemusement. Her compassionate nature extended beyond her family, and she was a fierce advocate for animal welfare throughout her life.
Linda is predeceased by her husband, Robert, and her son, Patrick R. Kadel. She leaves behind her son, Joseph Kadel; daughter, Elizabeth Bocchino; son-in-law, Tyler Bocchino; seven grandchildren and their signnificant others; and as of a recent addition nine great-grandchildren. Her memory will live on through the love she shared with her family and friends, and the impact she had on everyone fortunate enough to know her.
A celebration of Linda’s life will be held at a private family gathering. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Linda’s honor to an animal welfare charity of your choice—her passion for animals was an enduring part of her legacy.
Linda’s spirit, kindness, and unwavering love for her family will never be forgotten. She touched many lives, and her memory will continue to be cherished by all who knew her.
