Linda's obituary
Linda Joan Josefson (Wilhelmsson)
April 8, 1962 - April 8, 2022
Linda Joan Josefson is survived by her husband, John David Josefson. Linda met John when they were in their early twenties, became instant best friends and ultimate soulmates. They married on December 30, 1990, sharing a close bond and approximately forty years together. They loved deeply and lived fully. Linda and John danced to their special song representing a pure expression of unconditional love; “Just the Way You Are” by singer-songwriter, “Billy Joel”. John and Linda made their home and grew their family in Elk Grove, California. Linda and John loved to travel together and they enjoyed Hawaii many times.
Linda earned an Associates of Arts Degree in Accounting and Linda was an accomplished small businesswoman. She provided bookkeeping services to many grateful clients as well as running her husband’s construction business.
Linda had a wicked sense of humor, loved to dance and sing, and make you laugh. She had a way of seeing the most sublime and the most ridiculous things in our world, and finding the beauty and irony in all of it.
Linda learned to sew, knit and crochet as a child, and created many beautiful heirloom pieces including, most recently, a Tree of Life quilt for her daughter. She taught her grandkids how to knit, a hobby they love.
Linda’s three children are; Christopher Edwards, (San Jose, California), Samantha Carroll, (Elk Grove, California), and Joshua Josefson, (Sacramento, California), and Linda’s two wonderful daughters-in-law, Teresa Edwards, (San Jose, California) and Claudia Josefson, (Sacramento, California).
Linda’s ten grandchildren include Christopher’s Children; Crystalyn (24), Matthew (23), Katie (21), Logan (14), Viviana (9), and Jack (6) and Samantha’s Children; Sean (17), Cadence (11), Nora (9), and Olivia (7).
Linda Joan Josefson was born on April 8, 1962 in San Jose, California, to her late mother, Frances Teresa (Hagerty) Wilhelmsson (born October 26, 1928 in Walnut Creek, California) and her late father, Kristofer Wilhelmsson (born September 22, 1930 in Reykjavik, Iceland), who were married in Berkeley, California.
Growing up in a home filled with love, Linda enjoyed games and music with her six siblings, Steven Wilhelmsson, (San Francisco, California), late Christine Braniff, (Lewiston, Idaho), Michael Wilhelmsson, (San Carlos, California), Maureen Black, (Newcastle, California), John Wilhelmsson, (San Jose, California), and Richard Wilhelmsson, (Boulder Creek, California).
Linda is also survived by forty nieces and nephews and thirty-five great nieces and nephews.
An immediate smile happens when thinking of Linda, her dedication to her family, and her positive attitude and generous contributions of her love and her time as a Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Auntie, Sibling, Relative, and Friend; surely a remarkable woman.
Linda can be remembered for her pleasant, calm, cheerful nature, and her ability to teach love, spread love, and enrich the lives of all that know her.
It is no surprise that Linda’s favorite flower is the yellow Daylily which is most often used to symbolize beauty, courage, devotion, joy, and love… all true representations of Linda.
Some Scriptures in life and love in reflection of Linda’s unwavering faith are:
“John 11:25-26” Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though they die, yet shall they live”...
“Corinthians 16:14:” Do everything in love.
In keeping with Linda’s loving and generous spirit, she chose to give precious life to others through her gifts of organ, eye, and tissue donation.
Linda chose cremation and plans are being made for Linda to be laid to rest with her memorial service on Saturday, April 30, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Saratoga Cemetery District, Madronia Cemetery, 14766 Oak Street, Saratoga, California 95070, (408) 867-3717.
Immediately following Linda’s Service, (at approximately 1:00 PM), loved ones are invited to bring a pot-luck dish, drinks, and fond memories to share at Linda’s Celebration of Life at her brother Johnny’s house at 875 South 12th Street, San Jose, California, 95112, (916) 865-8252.
