Linda's obituary
Linda Marie Horn, age 74, of Westwood, KS. passed away on Monday September 4th, 2023 in the arms of her beloved companion of 33 years Robert (Bob) Hanson. Linda was born May 31, 1949 in Spokane Washington to Ray and Kathleen Horn. Linda grew up in the small town of Oakesdale, Washingon where she enjoyed cheerleading, Future Farmers of America activities and was a member of the Oakesdale/Malden Order of Eastern Star. Linda graduated from Oakesdale High School in 1967. After high school graduation she attended Western Washington University and Washington State University. Upon completion of flight attendant school, Linda went to the air contributing to safe and enjoyable air travel with Braniff Airlines, for the next 19 years she traveled the world! After completing her career in the airlines industry, Linda attended the University of Kansas earning a Bachelor of Arts degree, majoring in History.
Linda lived a full and vibrant life with many passions. She served as president of the Westwood Women's Club and was a member of the Women's Committee for the UMKC Conservatory, currently serving as the Corresponding Secretary. She was a member of the Kansas City Symphony Alliance. She served as president of the Junior Women's Symphony Alliance (2001-2002). Linda volunteered countless hours for the Shawnee Indian Mission Foundation and was a member of the Clipbees Flight Attendant Association. Linda was proceeded in death by her brother Thomas, brother Daniel, father Ray Horn, stepfather Lester C. Camp and mother Kathleen Camp. Linda is survived by her brother Lester C. Camp II, her nephew Benjamin Camp, nieces, Alexis Joy, Katherine Camp, Noelle Novak, and Erica Bloomquist MD.
