Linda's obituary
Linda Darnell Hollingshead, 67, of Miami, Florida, died on Saturday, January 22, 2022. Linda was born on September 27, 1954 in Miami, Florida to Alvin (deceased) and Ruby Wilburn. Linda was the youngest of four siblings: Anthony Wilburn (deceased), Cassandra Johnson, and Anna Maria V Scott (deceased).
Linda went to Miami Jackson Highschool in Miami, Florida. She later went into the military and did 3 years of service abroad in Germany. Linda later married Richard Hollingshead and had three children Angelia Battles (deceased), Tangelia Baker, and Richard Hollingshead. In 1988, Linda had an aneurysm followed by a stroke, which left her paralyzed and confined to a wheelchair. Her loving sister- in- law Evelyn Hollingshead finished raising her two youngest children, Tangelia and Richard, for which she greatly appreciated.
Despite her disability, Linda would become known for her bright smile and contagious laughter. She was also known for her greeting, "How you doing?" and “How you feel?” along with her welcoming smile. Linda enjoyed talking with friends, watching figure skating and football, but most of all spending time with her loving mother, children, sister, and friend Leroy (now deceased). Over the years Linda studied the Bible with Jehovah's Witnesses where she learned about God’s name and the Bibles promise of a new world, where she would no longer need her wheelchair.
Linda is survived by her mother Ruby Wilburn with companion Billy Snipes, Uncle Oscar Jessie with spouse Mary Jessie, sister Cassandra Johnson, daughter Tangelia Baker with spouse Eric Baker Jr., son Richard Hollingshead, niece Bertina Wilburn, grandchildren William Hannah Jr. with spouse Reda Hannah, Ashley Hannah, Shiriece Hannah, Jonathan Hannah, Majesti Brock, Eric Baker III, Nadia Baker, Ivory Baker, best friend Beverly White with spouse Lou White, and a host of great grands, nieces, nephews, and in-laws.
The family wishes to thank express thanks for all the acts of kindness shown to us during one of the most heartbreaking time in our lives. We will forever be grateful to each one of you for your gifts, phone calls, cards, and text messages as well as your loving support.
REMEMBER ME
Don’t remember me with sadness, don’t remember me with tears, remember all the laughter, we’ve shared throughout the years. Now I am contended That my life was worthwhile, knowing that I passed along the way I made somebody smile.
