Linda's obituary
Linda Gail Holden (62) of Hesperia, California passed away on Friday, January 16th, 2026. Linda passed away peacefully in the comfort of her own home, taking her final breath in the embrace of her husband, Thomas Holden.
She was born on January 18th, 1963 in Torrance, California to Patrick and Iris Lara. She was the youngest of four daughters, affectionately earning her nickname “Squirt”.
Linda’s happy place was anywhere she was fully present, outside in the fresh air, at a play, around a board game, laughing with friends, or doing anything with her family. For those who knew her, Linda was the happy place. There was no situation in which she couldn’t find something positive, no challenge in which she couldn’t uncover joy. She was the happy place.
Linda’s legacy is one of selflessness, of consistently placing the needs of others above her own. She gave freely of her time, her energy, and her heart, never seeking recognition, only the quiet knowledge that she had helped someone else. A beautiful contrast to her unmistakable, contagious laugh.
Her decades in the school district allowed Linda to touch countless lives. While she took great care to ensure her library was welcoming for students and well organized for teachers, it was never the space itself that drew people in, it was Linda. Her warmth, humor, and genuine interest in others made everyone feel comfortable and valued. Always willing to help and eager to serve, she became unforgettable to the students she supported and a trusted, dear friend to colleagues and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Linda’s greatest achievement was her family. A devoted wife for nearly forty years, she built a life rooted in love, partnership, and unwavering commitment. As a mother to her four children, she worked tirelessly to provide for them, support them, and be present in their lives. Her children always knew they were her highest priority, and her love for them was constant, selfless, and unconditional. Even her “get up and dust it off” approach was always rooted in love. Her role as “Grandma” was one she cherished deeply, and she embraced it with the same warmth, humor, and devotion that defined every part of her life.
Linda’s unwavering faith in God, evident even in her final hours, was a source of strength and peace. Her life reflected a deep trust in Jesus Christ, and her example invites us all to reflect on our own faith and the hope it provides.
She is survived by her husband, Thomas; her children Wade (Sheesel), Garrett (Miranda), Grant (Karen), and Lindsay (Art); her six grandchildren; and her sisters Kathy (Andrew), Kris (Rob), and Lori (Scott).
A Memorial Service, followed by a Celebration of Life, will be held on Saturday, February 7, at 10:00 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church, 539 N. Acacia Ave., Rialto, CA 92376.
