Diane Gurr
January 29, 1945 - May 13, 2024
Our amazing Nana, L. Diane Gurr, age 79, passed away on May 13, 2024, in Sandy, UT. She was born on January 29, 1945, in Mount Pleasant, Utah to Lynn and Faye Shepherd.
Nana was an angel on earth, known for her unconditional love and kind demeanor. She touched the lives of many with her warm smile and genuine words. Her selfless nature and willingness to help others, even in her own times of struggle, exemplified her caring heart. She was lovingly devoted to her family and shone such a light in their lives.
She is survived by her brother Jay (Annie), sister Tami (Steve), son Bryan, grandchildren and great grandchildren Tobi, Garrett (Felecia, Jayce), Taura (Muazzam, Amayah), Brittan (Breianna, Chelsea, Bryant), Bryanna (Kristian), Morgan (Kathi), and Levi (Megan, Avery, Asher). She also dearly loved all of her cousins, nieces, and nephews. She was reunited in heaven with the love of her life, Stanley Gurr, her parents, her brother David, and her daughter Deb.
A member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Nana served an LDS Mission in Salt Lake City, where she supported young mothers and children at the YWCA downtown.
Nana's hobbies included reading romance and adventure novels, particularly enjoying the works of Nora Roberts and Danielle Steele. She also found joy in knitting hats, donating over 1,000 to Primary Children's Hospital, Ronald McDonald House, and the YWCA. She was also a talented painter. She loved to travel the USA with Stan and take trips to the great outdoors. Her favorite places were Lake Tahoe and Jackson Hole.
Services will be held on May 25, 2024 at 12:30 pm at the LDS Church located at 586 E 8400 S, Sandy, UT 84070. Those wishing to visit and offer condolences to the family are invited to come to the Celebration of Life that will be held the morning before services at 11:00 am in the same building.
