Linda's obituary
Linda Larsen German passed away on November 9th, 2021 after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer’s.
Linda was born in Staten Island, New York on October 27th, 1951 to Eleanor and Clarence Larsen. After graduating from Port Richmond High School, she went on to study Art & Design at the University of Florida. On May 17th, 1992, Linda married her beloved husband David German in New York City, and they went on to have one daughter, Emily German, in 1994.
From the beginning, Linda was a natural-born leader with a quick mind. In the 1980’s and 90’s, Linda worked her way up the corporate ladder, holding a variety of senior-level positions at Liz Claiborne, helping to grow the business into a Fortune 500 company. In 1994, the NYC Academy of Women Leaders named Linda as one of the “125 Top Achieving Women in America.” Linda always prioritized her family, leaving Liz Claiborne at the height of her career to be a devoted mother to her daughter, Emmy. Linda subsequently started a number of successful ventures and remained an active part of the fashion and design community both in New York City and Watermill, New York.
Later in life, Linda enjoyed being surrounded by her friends and family in Water Mill, always lighting up a room with her infectious smile and laughter and never missing an opportunity to dance to Motown or sing along to Frank Sinatra.
Linda is survived by her husband, Dave German, their daughter, Emmy German, and her stepdaughter, Amanda German. She is also survived by her brother, Rodney Larsen and sister-in-law, Dana Larsen; her niece and nephew, Courtney Larsen Keller and Alex Larsen, along with their families; as well as many, many, friends.
Services will be held at Linda’s childhood church, Salem Church, in Staten Island on Wednesday, November 17th at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America.
