Linda's obituary

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Linda Friend, born February 22, 1946, who passed away on October 28, 2024, at Sarasota Memorial Hospital in Venice, Florida, at the age of 78 due to respiratory complications.

Linda was known for her sharp wit, sarcasm, and an incredible sense of humor that could fill any room with laughter and sometimes surprise. She had a remarkable ability to bring people together, often through her love of cooking for family gatherings. A devoted fan of WWE and an avid reader of horror and thriller novels, Linda found joy in the simple pleasures of life.

Born in Keene, New Hampshire, Linda spent much of her early life in Athol, Massachusetts. She later moved to Florida as a young woman, where she gave birth to her four sons: Rick Miller and Daniel Miller of Port Charlotte, Florida; and Earl Miller and Scott Miller, both of whom she lost too soon. Linda also cherished her eight grandchildren and maintained close ties with her siblings Judy Duguay of Athol, Massachusetts, and Donald Patterson of Orange, Massachusetts. She was predeceased by her siblings Joyce and Ronnie but remained connected to her extended family in Massachusetts.

Linda lived a vibrant and adventurous life. In her younger years, she embraced a nomadic lifestyle, traveling across the United States in her van. During the 1990s and early 2000s, she resided in New Hampshire and Maine, where she created lasting memories with her grandchildren. In later years, she settled in Port Charlotte, Florida, with her then-husband Edward Friend.

Linda will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Plans for a memorial service are pending. May her memory bring comfort to those who loved her.
