Linda's obituary
Linda H. Fick, 71, of Rock Hill, SC died unexpectedly in her home on Friday, April 8, 2022. She is survived by her best friend and devoted husband of 49 years, Earl.
Linda was born in Beloit, Wisconsin on December 11, 1950. Upon graduating from high school in 1968 in Cedar Rapids Iowa, Linda took a year off and experienced many adventures backpacking through Europe. Upon her return, Linda relocated to Colorado and began working in Law. Here she met her future husband Earl in 1972. Being very crafty and an excellent seamstress, Linda made her own dress for their first date and the two became inseparable. Linda married her “Earl Bear” in August of 1973.
Linda attended the University of Colorado and graduated in May of 1978 with a Bachelor of Arts degree majoring in psychology with a minor in sociology, she then enrolled at the University of Denver College of Law graduating in March of 1982 and passed the Bar Exam the following month.
In 1987, Linda and Earl relocated to Mooresville NC, and then settled in nearby Rock Hill SC in 1996.
As a lover of the outdoors, Linda was an avid camper. Every September they spent time at their property in Larimer County CO and stayed in “The Iron Buffalo”, their small canned ham style camper. While Earl would be out hunting, Linda would stay behind and enjoy the solitude with nature. The pair also enjoyed their annual camping trip to Modoc SC, where they would meet up with friends for hunting and catching up during big community meals.
Never one to miss birthdays, anniversaries, and holidays, Linda sent heartfelt greeting cards to everyone she knew. There was never a special occasion that Linda did not send a sweet card or thoughtful gift.
Linda was one-of-a-kind and a truly kind and loving person. Her thoughtful and giving nature will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
A Memorial at Fort Snelling in Minneapolis MN is being planned for a later date.
