Linda Gayle Aucoin Estes, age 74, passed away suddenly on December 22, 2024, in St. Francisville, Louisiana. Born on July 11, 1950, in Pride, Louisiana, Linda lived a life marked by warmth, compassion, and unwavering devotion to those she loved. A graduate of Baker High School, Linda carried the values of her upbringing throughout her life—kindness, generosity, and a deep sense of empathy. She was known for her outgoing spirit and loving nature. Her presence brought comfort and joy to those around her. Linda’s greatest joy came from her family. She is survived by her husband, James W. “Wally” Estes; her beloved daughter Adrienne Aucoin Hale and son-in-law Dustin Hale; and her cherished grandsons Kieran and Peyton. Her bond with Kieran was especially profound-he was the light of her life and the center of her world. To him and to all who knew her as “MeMe”, she was a source of unconditional love and boundless support. She also leaves behind stepdaughters Angela and Brandi; step-grandchildren Jessica, Amber, Vivian, Sydney and Christian; siblings Ivy Dale Aucoin, Randy Aucoin, Judy Anderson, Cynthia Carlin, and Evelyn Estes; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Linda was preceded in death by her parents Ivy Q. and Myrtis J. Aucoin; brother Donald Ray Aucoin; and nephews Wendell R. Anderson and Barton Anderson. Her passions reflected the vibrant spirit she brought to life each day. Linda was a “free spirit”, who found peace in gardening and joy in outdoor activities. She loved traveling to new places and reading. But above all else, she treasured time spent with Kieran- spoiling him, sharing stories, and simply enjoying each other’s company. Her legacy lives on in every act of kindness she inspired. Though the world feels dimmer without her presence, Linda’s light continues to shine through the lives she touched so deeply. May her memory bring comfort to all who knew her and loved her. A Memorial Gathering will be held on July 12, 2025 from 4:30-6:00 at Lake Rosemound on the beach area.
