Linda's obituary

Linda Katherine (Gogley) Eaton of Lawrenceville GA, went peacefully to be in the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Wednesday January 1, 2025.  She was the loving wife of David Morrison Eaton with whom she shared 60 years of cherished marriage.

Born on November 18th 1942 in Gary Indiana Linda was the beloved daughter of the late Charles Gogley and Katherine Gogley. She graduated from Mt. Lebanon High School in 1961 where she met the love of her life, David Morrison Eaton.  Linda also attended and graduated from Morris Harvey College in 1965 with a degree in education. David and Linda were married in 1965.

Linda’s journey in education began in the Gwinnett County School District, where she touched countless lives as a dedicated teacher. Though she stepped away for a time to support her husband’s business, pursue professional home decorating, and work in marketing, her passion for teaching never faded. She ultimately returned to the classroom at Gwinnett County Community College, where she continued to inspire and uplift those around her.

Beyond her career, Linda’s heart was devoted to her family. She was a loving wife, a devoted mother, and a woman of many talents. Her gift for home decorating brought warmth and beauty to every space she touched, and her artistic talent shone through in the stunning paintings her family treasures today. However, her greatest joy came from being present for those she loved—offering unwavering support, encouragement, and kindness.

Linda had a generous spirit and a heart for helping others. A proud breast cancer survivor, she became a pillar of strength within two breast cancer support groups, guiding and encouraging countless women through their own journeys. She was a source of wisdom on early detection and an ever-present beacon of hope for those facing the challenges of the disease.

Her love extended beyond people to the animals that brought her comfort and joy throughout her life, especially her beloved dogs. She found peace in nature, tending to her beautifully landscaped yard with the same care and devotion she gave to those around her. Her faith remained a cornerstone of her life, and she was a devoted member of Gwinnett County Community Church for many years.

Linda’s legacy is one of love, creativity, and kindness—a life well-lived and deeply cherished by those who knew her. Her love lights our way forever.

Linda is survived by her daughter Susan Rebecca Eaton and her son David Michael Eaton a grandson Jason Christopher Eaton, a sister Mary Christine Deemer. She is also survived by numerous extended family members and her dear friends, all of whom will remember her with great love and admiration.

A service to celebrate Linda's life will be held on February 20th at 12:00 P.M. at the Gwinnett County Community Church 2516 Five Forks Trickum Rd, Lawrenceville, GA 30044

Afterwards, we will have a small reception at Three Blind Mice located @ 1066 Killian Hill Rd SW Ste 101, Lilburn, GA 30047
