Linda's obituary

Linda Kathleen (Greer) Curnutt, 75, passed away on October 7th, 2024. Linda is survived by her husband of 51 years, Ronald Curnutt. As well as their five children, 12 grandchildren, and her sister, Diana Rowland, and brother, Daniel Greer.

Linda was born on December 26, 1948 in Mansfield, OH to William and Elizabeth Greer. She was raised and maintained a faithful life as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS). Linda met Ron while he was on his LDS mission in Ohio. The two were wed in Oakland, CA at the LDS Temple on October 6, 1973. They lived in Ohio for many years and that is where they began their family. They had four sons and one daughter: Matthew, Benjamin, Jason, Amy, and Andrew. Around 1985, the family made the move to San Jose, CA where they would live until 1997 when they moved to Cedar City, UT.

Linda received her bachelor's degree in Speech and Language Pathology from Brigham Young University and a masters degree in Deaf education from the University of Utah. She spent over 30 years of her life in Deaf education, teaching in Ohio, California, and Utah. Linda retired in 2014. She had a lifelong impact on countless students in her career. Two of her own children and many of her students went on to become educators due to her incredible influence on their lives. Linda made connections with her students that lasted far beyond their graduation. She loved to teach and was thankful for the many years she had in the classroom. Her students were each very special and important to her.

Devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Linda loved spending time with her family. As her family grew and spread across the country, she was always eager to have everyone together and would be sure to capture the moment with family pictures. Her 12 grandchildren were each a true blessing to her: Elijah, Eva (Matthew & Kristine), T-Nyla (Benjamin & Giselle), Whyatt, Logan, Levi, Layla (Jason & Kelly), Sawyer, Lily (Amy & Chadrick), Brighton, Austin, and Emery (Andrew & Melissa).

Many people will remember Linda's kind smile and cheerful laugh. She enjoyed decorating her home and making it a welcoming place for anyone ready for a visit. She loved being a part of her church, cheering on her favorite sports team (especially the SF Giants), Hallmark movies, and visiting with friends or family. Linda and Ron moved to Colorado to be near family in 2023. She spent her last moments with her husband and daughter by her side.

We will be celebrating Linda's life with a funeral service at Highland Cemetery in Wellington, CO on October 26th at 11:00am. A reception will immediately follow at 3712 Cleveland Ave.
