Linda's obituary

Linda Gloria (Stumpf) Blondin born Jan 07 1950 in Kitchener, Ontario, died July 26, 2023 in Mission BC

It is with great sadness and sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved mother, sister and friend to all whose lives she touched. Linda was the million-dollar baby of Harley and Marion Stumpf. She is survived by her children Rocky Blondin (Cheryl), Chad Blondin and Tamara Donahue (David), Grandmother to Cohen and Landry Blondin, as well as her siblings Dennis Stumpf (Sharon), Gwen Cleave (Gerry) Brian Stumpf, Steve Stumpf (Gail), Brenda Petraschuk (Darrell), Debbie Kleutsch (Mike) and Shirley Koestibyo (Kevin), as well as many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. All of those she loved and touched deeply.

Linda started life in Kitchener, Ontario with her mom and dad and her one brother. The family would soon move to St Catherines, where 3 more of her siblings were born. Linda and her family eventually moved to Calgary, Alberta where her 3 youngest siblings would be born and big (little) sister Linda would become her mother’s helper in looking after the family.

Linda enjoyed sports and actively participated in gymnastics, softball, hockey and other sports. Linda was part of the Bowets entertainment where she sang, danced  and twirled the baton as well as the fire baton.

She attended Henry Wisewood High school and was in the graduating class of 1968.

In her early 20’s she moved to BC, where she married and started her family. She was a loving & devoted mother first and foremost as her children were everything to her. She was always there to support them in their various pursuits. Linda’s love for her children and her passion for mentoring saw Linda open a gymnastics club, where her son would thrive and become an accomplished world-class gymnast. She saw her daughters love of horses and eventually acquired several horses with her daughter. Linda would encourage her to compete and enjoy her success in the equestrian field. Linda enjoyed her time spent with animals, caring for so many though her life. Linda loved her children and grandchildren unconditionally, and embraced every moment with them as she specially loved her role as Grandma and adored her two young grandsons.

Linda had a vivacious personality, and a twinkle in her eyes. She made many friends throughout her life and always had a knack for making people laugh. Linda became involved in her community where she was a well know and highly respected dance teacher for adults. She taught Line dancing, two stepping, waltz, the cha-cha plus many more styles of dance. She was definitely a mover and shaker.

Linda was truly an amazing woman, with a kind heart, a beautiful soul and she lived by the verse “have courage, be kind, and dance like no one is watching”.  She was a woman of integrity and honesty, lived for truth and disliked fake people.  She loved to travel, she enjoyed bookkeeping, she was an entrepreneur and she worked hard all of her life. She wasn’t afraid of anyone or anything. She was a fierce mama bear, and even though she was just a tiny little thing she was tough as nails. Linda was truly inspirational.

She is loved by many and will be missed by all.

You will always be in our hearts.

Rest in peace beautiful soul.

We love you
