Somewhere in Massachusetts
Linda knew about my obsession with the Red Sox. After the 2007 Red Sox won the World Series, LL Bean took the tarp from the field at Fenway Park and made a limited number of LL Bean tote bags that were available at their stores. I live far away from any of those places. Linda and one of her friends stood in line for a long time so that she could get one of those tote bags for me! A lot of the people in that line took the tote bags they purchased and put them on line and sold them on eBay for lots of money. Not Linda. Not my cousin. She gave it to ME, not eBay. For me, it was just like getting a block of gold from Fort Knox.
What made Linda special was that she always made me laugh. Sometimes she made me laugh so much that I could barely breathe. It was a special occasion to spend time with her. No matter if times were tough, she always had a way to find the humor in a situation. Besides, she and I never figured out the secret to her mother's famous fudge recipe, no matter how hard we tried!
We were playing charades at Chelsey and James house with the children, I remember laughing so hard when it was her turn and she came flying into the room, hands outstretched and right across the floor on her belly!

My sincere condolences to Linda's family and friends. I had not seen her since school but I remember how sweet she always was to everyone. May she rest in the sweetest peace.  😇

Linda was the epitome of "grandmothering"!  She adored her grandchildren.  She brought them to the library to get their library cards when they were two.  She painted their tiny toes and fingernails, any color they wanted.  She taught them manners, and nursery rhymes.  She was full of hugs and kisses, and most of all I was honored to have met her and shared my great- grandchildren with her.  I will miss her presence all around them.  She was so brave and an inspiration, I loved her, MIMI
