Linda's obituary

The One and Only Linda Jean Auzenne, 83, of Highland, CA, passed away peacefully at home on November 14, 2024 from natural causes due to heart failure and diabetic-related kidney disease.

Linda was the second child of William "Bill" Musso and Bonnie Jean (Millard) Musso. She has two older brothers, Robert Eugene "Bobby Gene" Musso, of Greensboro, NC (d.), and Ric Musso, of Fresno, CA. Linda was born on February 15, 1941, in Ventura, CA. Her father Bill was a business owner and Bonnie was a homemaker who also helped run and manage the accounting affairs of the business. Linda graduated from San Bernardino High School in 1959 and went on to study office administration at San Bernardino Valley College where she became proficient learning topographical map creation. With that skill, she worked for a few years at a Riverside, CA based firm contracted to create topographical maps for Norton AFB in San Bernardino, CA until she met her future husband, Jules Martin Auzenne, from Opelousas, LA. They met in 1961 when Jules' construction company was contracted to build Bill's new restaurant, the "Terminal Coffee Shop." Bill and Jules struck up a friendship, and Bill decided to introduce him to Linda. They wed February 23, 1963 and went on to have three living children, Craig Martin, Melissa (d.), Eric Thomas, and Alisa Monique.

When Linda gave birth to Craig, she found what she called her "greatest gift in life" - being a mother. Linda had unshakable optimism when matters of family were involved; she was the biggest cheerleader and supporter of those who knew and loved her. She was fiercely protective of those she loved and was a loyal, faithful, dedicated, caring wife through 53 years of marriage. For the last 15 years of Jules' life (he was diagnosed with multiple myeloma - a blood borne cancer), Linda retired from the San Bernardino City Unified School District as the librarian for Bonnie Oehl Elementary School, she selflessly devoted herself to the care and well-being of her husband - even donating her own stem cells directly to Jules when the care team at City of Hope didn't have enough. Her star was the brightest in the sky when she was helping others.

For those of us who knew her, Linda was the most excited one to celebrate your win, she always greeted you with a warm hug and genuine smile, always looked for the hopeful and good in all things, always ready to share a laugh, and always willing to enjoy a glass of wine. She had an insatiable zest for life; she loved to travel and was eternally excited for the next adventure. Linda traveled to many countries, including Mexico, Spain, Portugal, and Italy. In 2018, she was able to cross off the top item on her "bucket list" when she visited her paternal grandparents' ancestral homes in Sicily, Italy. She, hands-down, had an energy unmatched by anyone her age.

Linda approached all of her interests with a passion. She loved to sing karaoke and was an incredible seamstress, knitter, and artist. When she wasn’t filling her home with warmth and kindness, she would be out with friends enjoying life or traveling. Linda took full advantage of the final chapter of her life living it to her fullest; she appreciated the time she had left and lived it wholeheartedly by rediscovering her inner youth and her sense of independence. We greatly miss her gentle spirit and her loving ways.

Linda was preceded in death by her daughter Melissa, her parents Bill and Bonnie, her half-brother Robert Eugene, and her husband Jules. She is survived by her brother Ric, her children Craig Martin (Kathleen), Eric Thomas (Charlene), and Alisa Monique (Adam), grandchildren Jack, Stephen, Daniel, Brittanie (Chris), Samantha (Eric), and Richard (Jenny), great-grandchildren Ava-Marie, Juliet, Kaleb, Zepplin, Kennadie, Royce, Kiara, and soon-to-be Leo, niece Ricci Lynn Ulrich, nephews Billy Musso, Bobby Musso, Bruce Musso (d.), and Kevin Musso, grandnephew Tyler Ulrich, grandnieces Darcy Ulrich, Anisa Musso, and Siena Musso, and countless cousins and extended family. There will be religious services at St. Adelaide's Catholic Church in Highland, CA on Wednesday, March 19, 2025. Rosary will begin at 11:30am followed by mass service at 12:00pm.
