Lillie's obituary
Lillie Kathryn Hamrick Hilts was born in West Virginia on January 23, 1944, to parents Virgil Hamrick and Frances Brooks. She attended Stonewall Jackson High School, where she was a proud member of the Female Gens, and later earned her degree from Alderson Broaddus University. Lillie pursued a career rooted in psychology and education, holding distinguished roles such as a congressional fellow at the U.S. Senate and an educator at John Adams, among others. Throughout her career in education, she touched many touched lives, never forgetting the names, backgrounds, or stories of her students and always deeply believed in the transformative importance of knowledge.
Kathy was a beautiful, persistent, and resilient woman who found joy in painting, playing bridge, and gathering in community spaces. She carried an open heart and natural ease around others, meeting everyone without a trace of prejudice, always ready to engage in conversation. She always expressed deep gratitude for the years she spent with us. Now, reunited with her beloved Yorkies, her parents and family, her daughter Heather, and dear friends, she embraces the pure bliss and peace she so deserves.
