Lillie's obituary
Lille Catherine Smith went to be with her Lord and Savior on December 9, 2024. She was born in Valdosta, Georgia on October 31, 1954 and while she lived in different states over the years, she ultimately resided in the great state of Texas. In the last years of her life, God blessed her with an amazing little house on a beautiful piece of land in Boerne, Texas. She loved living there and we are so thankful to Meryl Brandt and his incredible kindness.
Catherine adored her mother Peggy Jean North and her sisters Vickie Hagan and Jeanie Stanfill and her brother Ronnie Wilson.
Catherine married Lee Smith in 1983 and was the mother to four children who love her more than words can express. Bridget Medina, Michelle Seger, Leah Ratliff and Jacob Smith. She was the absolute best grammie to 9 grandchildren who adored her (Lillie, Sam, Brandt, Catherine, Parker, Hudson, Lynna, Leona and Lodie). She loved her niece Alicia very much and baby Preston. Catherine’s little dog Boo was very precious to her and a great companion for 13 years.
Catherine loved to sew and made her family and friends all kinds of wonderful items such as pjs, aprons, blankets and prayer shawls. Her favorite sport to play in her younger years was softball. In adulthood she took up tennis and became quite good. She was also a big football fan and enjoyed watching her Kansas City Chiefs on the weekend.
Lillie Catherine’s life can best be encapsulated by two words; Faith and Love. She trusted in the Lord Jesus for her salvation and she proclaimed His gospel to her family and countless people she met over the years. There are doubtless many souls in heaven because she shared her faith in Christ Jesus with them. The bible tells us “the greatest of these is love” and Catherine embodied that word. Love and kindness is just who she was and you could not leave her side without feeling special and loved. Catherine was literally beautiful inside and out.
Although Catherine’s physical presence may no longer grace our lives, her memory will continue to inspire and uplift us. May who she was continue to be a blessing, and may we carry forth her legacy of love and compassion in all that we do.
If you confess with your mouth Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.
