Lillie's obituary

Lillie Lucille Carpenter-Roddy was born May 9, 1946 to Ira Dallie Hill and Lillie Eugenur Holland Hill of Port Vincent, Louisiana. Lillie, known to family and friends as Lucy, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 21, 2025 at The Crossing at Clarity Hospice in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She was a resident of Walker, Louisiana.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Kirby J. Roddy. She was also preceded in death by her siblings: Eloise Hill Allen (spouse: Jake), Ira “Bo” Hill (spouse: Ernestine), Joyce Hill Crotwell (spouse: Fred), Sidney Hill (spouse: Robbie), Barbara Hill Carpenter (spouse: Dalton), and Pat Hill (spouse: Betty).

She is survived in death by her three children: Freddie (Teddy) Dal Carpenter (spouse: Debra), Ricky Lance Carpenter, and Robin Michelle Carpenter. She was grandmother to five grandchildren: Christopher Dalton Penuel, Justin Young, Brittany Paige Johnson, Cody Lane Johnson, and Dal Antonio Carpenter. She was also great-grandmother to three great-grandsons: Cayden Jace Ginder, Dal Antonio Carpenter, Jr., and Zackarrieah Matthew Carpenter. She was also survived by a number of nieces and nephews.

She worked in various career fields such as waitressing, retail, office management, truck driving, and property management. She loved gardening and taking care of her numerous pets. She loved her family, and will be deeply missed.

A memorial service in her honor will be held Saturday, February 1st, 2:00 P.M., at Bethany Church, 28115 Juban Road, Denham Springs, Louisiana, 70726.
