Lillian Martin Jameson
Lillian Jameson passed away surrounded by family on Monday August 22 at the age of 89. Born and raised in Poplar Bluff, MO, Lillian married her husband Cecil Jameson in 1952 and began an adventure of a lifetime. They eventually settled in St. Charles, IL where they raised their family of three children. Lillian retired from General Mills in West Chicago in 1994 where she built lifelong friendships and memories. Her favorite bird was the Cardinal and the symbolic meaning of it flowed through Lillian’s life. Devotion to family was her life’s mission as her family grew. She spent her free time at many a sporting event or school function for her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Lillian enjoyed a good beer, a nice book sale and the St. Louis Cardinals. She was an avid reader and animal lover. She simply enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren whether it was a spontaneous lunch or a family trip. Lillian is preceded in death by her husband Cecil, brothers Edward, Stanley and Robert Martin, her sister Helen Prenzel Kearbey and her very favorite feline Tommy. She is survived by her daughters Janice Stevens (Wally) and Dianna Jameson, her son Dennis Jameson, sisters Carlene Vincent and Lorene Miller, grandson son Beau Parks (Michelle), granddaughter Amy Clayton, great grandsons Austin, Brenden and Cayden Parks, great granddaughters Ayla Clayton and Janelle Williams and many nieces and nephews. Lillian will be laid to rest at Woodlawn Cemetery in Poplar Bluff in a private family ceremony on Saturday September 10th. In lieu of flowers, her family asks that you make a donation to an animal shelter in her name.
