Lila's obituary
Lila Campanelli-Purifoy died on Tuesday July 18, 2023 in hospice care at Brandon Regional Hospital where she was treated for an aneurysm in her brain. This shining star of many talents, boundless love, and perpetual energy made a positive difference in this world and will forever live in our hearts. Her portfolio of goodness included transporting cancer patients to Moffitt Cancer Center, ironically, prior to her own affliction. Her effervescent spirit lit up the room and gained her so many friends. Never satisfied with less than 100% effort, she was one to count on in both of her Tampa/Valrico neighborhoods. Her faith never faltered, especially with Holy Innocents' Episcopal Church and the brothers and sisters there with whom she worshipped. She traveled the United States with Steve and saw many wonders of this great Nation. Her love for her family was only matched by their love for her. She packed more into 71 years than two lifetimes of a normal mortal.
A child of Frank and Grace Campanelli, she is survived by her husband, Steve Purifoy, siblings Mary Negro (Steve Strand), RoseAnn Kevgas, Joseph Campanelli and Gina Conti (Dan). Nephews/nieces Ronald Negro, Jr., Robert Negro, George Kevgas, Katherine Kevgas, Michael Campanelli, Michaela Conti, Kirsten Conti, Matthew Carrick and Elizabeth Carrick. And many more extended family members
A Celebration of Life for Lila will be held at Holy Innocents' Episcopal Church, 604 N. Valrico Rd., Valrico FL 33594 on Thursday August 10, 2023 at 1 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Holy Innocents' Episcopal Church, or Moffitt Cancer Center (Moffitt Foundation)
