Liesha Marquel Lewis, 37, of Newport, passed away on Wednesday, March 29, 2023, at her mother’s home in Raleigh.

Her memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, April 12th at Munden Funeral Home in Morehead City.

Liesha was born on January 2, 1986, in Opelousas, Louisiana, to the late Maurice Lamont Patrick Sr. and Bernadette Marie Lewis. Their family later moved to Morehead City, North Carolina, where Liesha grew up.

Liesha grew up in the Christian life, but went astray;

As her mental health and addiction took her over each day;

But her children and family meant more to her than words could ever say;

So, she fought the hard battle to find her way…

Back to the life that God had gave;

And in the end, her soul was saved…

By the Father’s Son, to whom she prayed.

Those remaining to cherish her memory are her husband of 20 years, Kerry Marbley of Newport, NC; children, Ky-Von Marbley and Amaya Marbley, both of Newport, NC; Mom, Elizabeth Patrick of Raleigh, NC; sisters, Markyona Patrick of Delta, PA, Makayla Patrick of Raleigh, NC; brothers, Patrick Behan (Gina) of Marshallberg, NC, Daniel Behan (Patricia) of Marshallberg, NC, Stephen Behan (Keala) of Wilmington, NC, Joseph Behan (Anna) of Pinehurst, NC, and Maurice Patrick Jr. of Chapel Hill, NC; grandmothers, Eloise Lewis and Rose Batts, both of Newport, NC; grandfather, Cleo Cross of Grand Rapids, MI; and numerous loving aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Liesha was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather.
