Liben Amedie, a beloved father, larger-than-life character, and brilliant mind, peacefully passed away on November 14, 2023, surrounded by loved ones after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Born on December 15, 1974, in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, Liben's journey took him from the Greek Community School to the International Community School and eventually to the United States, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering Technology from Southern Polytechnic State University.

Liben's professional path led him through a successful career at United Parcel Service and later into the field of law, where he excelled in commercial litigation. In 2012, he embraced his independent spirit by establishing the Liben Law Firm, becoming a trusted advisor to numerous businesses and individuals throughout Florida over almost two decades.

In 2010, Liben found his true love, Rose Amedie, in Tampa, Florida. They welcomed their two children, Nadia and Abner, whom he deeply loved and fiercely protected. Liben's infectious enthusiasm, wit, and zest for life infused every moment with his family and friends, ensuring that their lives were filled with adventure and excitement. He was the embodiment of perpetual motion, always brimming with ideas and a penchant for turning ordinary moments into extraordinary memories.

Liben's generosity extended beyond his immediate circle, as he actively contributed to the Tampa community and served on the Board of the Children’s Home Network for many years. His commitment to making a positive impact resonated with everyone who had the privilege of crossing paths with him.

Liben will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and the community he served. He is survived by his loving wife Rose, cherished children Nadia and Abner, his parents, siblings, aunts, uncles and cousins.

To honor and celebrate Liben’s remarkable life, family and friends are currently organizing a special celebration of his life, the details of which will be shared once a date has been determined. 

In lieu of flowers, if you are so inclined, the family has set up this memorial to allow his family and friends to contribute to the future educational expenses of Liben’s children.  Please see "Give" tab above.
