Lewis was born January 25, 1955 in Brooklyn, NY
to Rosalind Codd and Thomas Ruffin (deceased).
Educated through the NYC Public School System. He was employed by NYCHA as a summer maintenance worker and a clerk with the U.S Postal Service.

The youngest of 3 children, Lewis loved his family, life, children, grandchildren and friends. He was sensitive to the needs of others and enjoyed talking about anything from politics to craziness. Lewis could make you laugh or make you smile whenever you needed it. Lewis cherished his children and grandchildren , it gave him great joy taking them out to different places and doing sporadic things with them.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his children Jayshawn, Lahasia, Lewis Jr., and Keya. His grandchildren Monaya, Lakiem, Tyler and Kessel. His mother, Rosalind. His Siblings Lakeisha and Lakeem. Grandfather and Nana and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, and other relatives.

When Lewis walked through the door everything became excitement. We deeply and forever will miss you, your laughter, your love, and your style with all our hearts and soul.
