Lewis's obituary
Lewis N. Pinkerman, affectionately known as “Pink”, was born on July 12, 1950 in Ironton, Ohio, and passed away on September 15, 2023 in Alcoa, Tennessee. A proud Navy Seabee veteran, Lews' life was built around his favorite phrase “Utrinque Paratus”, which is Latin for “Ready for Anything”.
Lewis was preceded in death by his parents, Anna Mary and Lewis Pinkerman, brothers Michael and Robert Pinkerman, and nephew Joshua Moss. He is survived by his children, Carrie Pinkerman Dase and Chad Pinkerman, along with two grandchildren, Lili Dase and Lucy Dase. He is also survived by his sister, Lou Ann (Steve) Moss, brothers Bill and Chris Pinkerman, several nieces and nephews, and his special friends Lanna (Krogman) and Patrick Wilson.
Lew loved the Lord and memorizing scripture. His Bible was filled with highlighted versus, family photos, and handwritten notes. He also had a deep love for the outdoors and nature. Lew enjoyed hunting-especially deer and turkey, camping, fishing, mushroom hunting, survivalism, and any activity that allowed him to find peace bonding with nature. He was a lover of music, and enjoyed Tracy Chapman, Harry Chapin, The Traveling Wilburys, and even Rammstein.
Being a lover of black coffee, Lew would often start and finish his day with a strong brew. As good as he was saying “please”, and “thank you”, he never forgot to tell anyone leaving to always “be careful”. He was stubborn, determined and witty, but but also a man of deep sentiment and love.
Our hearts are heavy with the loss of a father, a grandfather, a brother, an uncle and a friend in Lewis. Yet, his spirit and memories remain with us reminding us to embrace life with laughter, a cup of black coffee, a tune of 'Fast Car', and most important to “Utrinque Paratus”, Rest in peace, Lewis "Pink" Pinkerman. Your wit is unmatched, but your memory unforgettable.
Per Lews’ wishes, his remains will be scattered at his favorite nature place in Kentucky.
