Lewis's obituary

Lewis Kenneth Parker Jr., 75, passed away peacefully in his home in Lakeland, Florida, on Saturday, September 28, 2019. Lewis was born on January 2, 1944 in Parkersburg, West Virginia, son of the late Lewis and Hallie (Santee) Parker. He grew up in Parkersburg, West Virginia and graduated from West Virginia University. He was employed as a teacher, writer, and editor. He married the late Susan Casto in 1969 and moved to Connecticut in 1973. He worked for Xerox and Weekly Reader as a book club editor for many years and has authored many books. Lew was an avid reader and lifelong learner. He lived in Middletown, Connecticut until August, 2017, when he married Sharon Chichester Rogers and moved to Lakeland, Florida. He is survived by his wife, Sharon; his daughters, Vanessa Parker and her children Tyrus and Chayden; and Marlena Parker, and her children Dakota, Nicholas, and Silas; and his younger brother, David Parker, of Parkersburg, West Virginia. Lew (or Papa, as the grandchildren called him) was a wonderful father, husband, grandfather, brother, and friend to anyone who knew him. He will be greatly missed.
