Lewis's obituary
Lewis Charles “Chuckles” Lentz
February 22, 1945 – January 18, 2026
Lewis Charles “Chuckles” Lentz, age 80, of Barrington, Illinois, passed away peacefully on January 18, 2026, in Barrington, IL. Born in San Diego, California, Chuck grew up in Clinton, Iowa, before making his way to the Chicagoland area where he built a life filled with hard work, family, and laughter.
Chuck was preceded in death by his first wife, Trish, and is lovingly survived by his wife Donna; his children Rob (wife Paula), Cory, and Melissa (husband Brian); his stepdaughter Alexis; and his two sisters, Sherry and Judy, along with cherished nieces and nephews.
A proud veteran, Chuck served his country in the Vietnam War. After his military service, he made his home in Park Ridge and devoted many years to his work at Schuessler Knitting Mill. Those who knew Chuck knew him as a dedicated worker, a loyal friend, and a man with a memorable sense of humor.
In retirement, Chuck found joy in simple pleasures: working to perfect his golf swing, a pastime he embraced with gusto, and relaxing at home watching his favorite shows on his big screen TV. He was also a dedicated member of an investment club for many years. Chuck had a special gift for finding comfort and contentment in everyday moments, whether he was helping family and friends with their taxes or enjoying an engaging conversation about financial investments.
Chuckles will be remembered for his warm presence, his stories, and the laughter he brought into every room. He leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, and devotion to his family and friends.
A Celebration of Life will also be held sometime this Spring, with details to come soon.
May he rest in peace and forever be in our hearts.
