Lewis's obituary

Lewis "Chops" William Leckliter, was born in Arroyo Grande, California November 24,1973. He is survived by his parents, Terry and Ann Leckliter, Sisters: Erin (Leckliter) Cooper, Laura (Leckliter) Coppini and Rachel (Leckliter) Leckkirk and spouses, and his partner Shelley Bungarder.  Lewis was a local, attending South School, Town School and Fortuna High. He was involved in cross country and track. Later he attended CR and pursued his love of Arts. He also left many loved ones, too many to be mentioned.

What can we say about a tender hearted man like our brother? Despite his outward appearance, he possessed a gentle soul making friends everywhere he went. Lewis danced to his own beat, and he created his own style and was never afraid to be himself.  He truly was a unique person. He was talented! Guitars, sewing, jewelry, pottery, painting, leather crafts and photography.  Lewis adopted many misplaced animals, and he loved being outside in nature and hiking.

Lewis held many different jobs, most recent being a caretaker. His life long passion was a  love of upcycling and thrifting which he was well known for.

We thank the community for all the support and well wishes. Lewis was truly a distinctive individual and he will be sorely missed. The family will be having a private service for him.
