Words just don't seem to be enough.  He made me feel accepted when I was a misfit, yet at the same time made me want to be better.  Time with him was time at peace and therapy for my soul.  There are so many people I meet that seem like a caricature of someone...their spirit subdued just sort of following a laid out path of what is expected and sometimes stepping on others to their own advantage to get to what society deems as "success."  Lew blazed his own path and didn't put others down to lift himself up.

I wish I had found the time to tell him how much I admired him and how much he inspired me...meh, he wouldn't want to hear the praise, he never did anything to get credit for it...doing good was credit enough.  His spirit was and always will be beautiful.

I was heart broken to receive the call informing me that Lewis wasn't going to be here much longer.  I was fortunate enough to be able to visit and say my good bye's to him before he made his journey.  It was the first time that I had seen Lewis in a couple of years... It's easy to get too busy with your life and things around you, that you put off doing what counts the most - being with those who you love.  Life is so short and fleeting and it's not guaranteed, at all.  Always do what you can to visit those who you love because you don't know if it's their last day here.I know that I'll see Lewis in heaven - I just don't want to wait that long before we hang out again, and I'm so deeply saddened that is the situation I find myself in.
