Amidst deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Dr. Lester Martin Partlow, Ph.D. Born in 1943 and distinguished in the sphere of Pharmacology and Toxicology. Dr. Partlow breathed his last breath on January 29, 2024. He was an esteemed alumnus of the Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, MD, where he acquired his Ph.D. in 1969. Dr. Partlow's career included being an Associate Professor of Pharmocology and Toxicology at the University of Utah. At retirement, Dr. Partlow was award Emeritus Status.  He cared greatly for his students and advised many of them personally. He strove to maintain the highest standards of teaching, research, and administrative work. He served ten years on the Medical School Admissions Committee. He revised his lectures yearly and included jokes and pertinent examples to engage his students more fully. He maintained a research laboratory for many years and published several articles in premier journals. He was often invited to engage in the peer review process and filled this role conscientiously.    

Dr. Partlow lives on in the memories of his beloved children: 1. Laura Partlow and her progeny Savannah Partlow & David Goldsmith, Mason Cracraft (Lester's great grandson), Alexandra Wilson & Mitch Poen; 2. Matthew Partlow & Teresa Lovelady Partlow and their children Olivia Lovelady Partlow, Abigail Lovelady Partlow, and Paula Hewes; 3. Sarah Partlow Lefevre & Nicolas Lefevre and their children Benjamin Lefevre & Madeline Lefevre; 4. Amy Partlow and her children Charlie des Robert & Gabriel des Robert; 5. Andrew Partlow & Sabrina Nouacer Partlow and their children Aiden Partlow & Asher Partlow: 6. Eric Wilson, son by marriage. Lester is also survived by his brother-in-law Arthur Youmans, Jr. and his children Arlana, Andrea, Doug, David, Amanda, Angela, Devin, Ashley & Derrick; and, his sister-in-law Karen Youmans and her children Emily & Chris.  Lester had a wonderful sense of humor and was very kind and funny. He was profoundly dedicated to his children and grandchildren.  He was a staunch advocate for women's rights and believed in equality for all people including LGBTQ+ folks. His family thinks he will be among the smartest, most loving men in heaven. 

His journey through the sunset reunites him with loved ones who predeceased him including: his parents by marriage Arthur and Beulah Youmans; his parents, Virginia Plough Lester Partlow & Luther Partlow; his grandson Taylor Partlow Wilson; his Aunt and Uncle Kitty & Dick Richards; his son by marriage Grant Sibley; his brother-in-law Richard Youmans; and his Co-Grandparent of two darling boys Ahcene Nouacer (born in Chetaibi, Algeria and died in Oceanside California). 

A viewing and celebration of life in honor of Dr. Partlow will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2024, at 6-8 PM at the Larkin Sunset Gardens in Sandy Utah. Those attending the service are requested to bring their hearts filled with treasured memories of Dr. Partlow, as we bid him farewell.

His absence creates a void that will never be filled. Yet, Dr. Partlow's legacy will continue to inspire generations in the world of today and the world of tomorrow. His teachings, his benevolence, and his stories are engraved in our hearts, providing the strength to transform our grief into a celebration of his extraordinary life.
