Hello Everyone,
First, I would like to thank you for caring enough to actually read my story or anyone's story on here. Here we go, my name is Brooks Lattiere, I am 39 years old and my mother's brother, my Uncle Lester just passed away. He was battling cancer for a while. His battle with cancer is what caused him & his wife, my Auntie Zina, to have to declare bankruptcy from all the hospital bills. They had medical and a life insurance policy until Auntie Zina lost her job at the bank she worked at for 20 years. I heard a little about it, something like she bent the rules a little probably to please a customer or something because she's a real sweetheart.. Anyways she lost her really good job while her husband was dying of cancer and that's what caused them to lose the life insurance policy they had. This is all happening in the middle of Covid-19 so there's a lot going on for her. Uncle Lester's birthday is on the 24th of May. I was planning to go visit him. I've been wanting to see him for a while ever since I heard he had cancer. I ain't gonna lie I did have a couple of chances to see him yet, I didn't end up going. I to am going through some things in life, we all do. Anyways this ain't about me it's about Uncle Lester. I believe it was on the 16th of May when Mom recieved a phone call from Auntie Zina saying that we need to hurry. We already booked our flights and we were scheduled to fly out to Florida on the 18th of May. I guess Auntie Zina could tell he wasn't going to make it much longer. We then called spirit airlines to see if we could get on a sooner flight ASAP. The airlines was very nice and understanding about our situation and even helped us change flights and fly out sooner. I was supposed to fly out of IAH, Texas and Mom was flying out of CC, Texas. Before we could even go our separate ways to meet back up in Florida. Mom got another call from Auntie Zina saying that Lester has passed. I was really disappointed in myself cause I didn't get to see him before he passed and I even had a couple chances to. I'd like to respectfully say something and that is, if you have important things to do you
wanna wait until the last minute to do them Anyway when I was driving from Corpus to Houston when I realize that I didn't have you shouldn't wait till the last minute to do them cause it might be to late. So I was on the road from Ingleside to Houston when I realized that I didn't have my ID. I quickly pulled over and looked for it but couldn't find it. I then turned around and headed back home to my house. When I got home I tore my place apart as fast as I could looking for my ID. I still couldn't find it. I was so upset with myself at that point and decided to call Spirit Airlines just to see if they would let me get on the plane with in one of my old expired ID's. It didn't take long for me to be told no by someone. I figured didn't have any other choice but to drive there. So I went home and packed a lot more things this time because ever since Uncle Lester got sick his house there house has been falling apart. That was another reason for me to drive so that I could bring some tools with me and do some work on there home while I was there. So I loaded up my car with all my tools as it started to rain. I was packed up and ready to go yet tired and decided to leave in the morning. I woke up to flash flood warnings and my little Toyota Corolla could not get out of my driveway. I've been stuck before trying to leave my place during a flash flood warning. My driveway is way to long and has way too much deep puddles in it. I called my brother to see if he could help me get out of my driveway with his truck but he is a busy guy who has kids and a wife. He doesn't have the best communication skills either. So I see everybody's messages in my phone cause it's a group message that Mom set up asking everyone to pitch in for his funeral. We have a pretty big family yet none of us have much money so they were probably able to collect a little over $1,000 for funeral cost and the estimated price was somewhere around $6,000. Zena spent all their money taking care of Uncle Lester while losing her job she had for 20 years, causing there life insurance policy to go away so she ain't doing to good. I don't even have a job but I'm giving her $100 of my own. Also I want you to know that nobody knows that I am trying this, I figured I would give it a shot. Please feel free to do some research on my Uncle Lester and me or you can even ask me questions about anything you'd like to know. I can be reached by my email at (brooksblattiere@gmail.com
Or you could even call me at (361) 230-3729 just to talk to me and see that I this is for real. If you decide you would like to help our family out we really could use the help and appreciate any amount you can offer. If you can't offer anything I still want to thank you for reading this story I wrote. There's one more part of the story that I forgot to say and that is that I'm still sitting at my place waiting for those mud puddles to go away cause no matter what happens next, I am still gonna make it to Florida to help comfort my family.
