Lester Chunn Sr. (73), born August 23, 1950 transitioned from labor to reward on February 17, 2024. Lester was born in Rowan County, NC, to the late Robert Henderson Chunn & Gladys Young Chunn. Lester was educated in the Davie County School System and had many different hobbies including boxing, playing cards, checkers and his favorite being his love for music, where he would perform with The Sensational Gospelaires of Salisbury, as well as with Ronica & The Mighty Blazing Stars where he traveled all over to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ through song!

Lester was employed at the Pillowtex Corporation for 22 years. Upon his early retirement after becoming sick, Lester recovered and continued to labor in his neighborhood as well as within his church! As a faithful member of New Shepard Missionary Baptist Church, Lester was a part of the Finance team, Usher Board, the Landscape ministry & Men's Chorus!

Mr. Chunn was preceded in death by his Father, Robert Henderson Chunn, Mother, Gladys Young Chunn, Brothers, Charles Chunn, Robert “Bob” Chunn, Franklin D. Chunn, and his Twin Brother Chester Chunn Sr.

He leaves behind his legacy to: His Loving Wife of 45 Years, Karin E. Chunn, Sons: Gary Campbell, Lester Chunn Jr., Michael Chunn and Jason Chunn. His Grandchildren: Shaquon Cannon, Lester Duan Chunn, Ryan Chunn, Keisha Chunn, Maliyah Chunn, Micol Chunn, Olivia Chunn & Lemon Chunn and 7 Great-grand children!

Lester was loved and adored by many and will be missed tremendously. Please continue to keep his friends and family in your thoughts and prayers during this time of bereavement!
