Background
If you have known Leslie within the last six years then you know that she has been battling Inflammatory Breast Cancer. This was her second fight with Breast Cancer and it was unrelenting. My family watched as my sister waged war against it day after day, month after month, and we witnessed the progression of the disease exhaust her body, mind, spirit and finances.
Leslie was a force in her own right. She was intelligent, beautiful, unrelenting, opinionated and was never afraid to dig her heels in the ground and stand firm. Leslie stood against this disease until the very last few days when it overcame her and she could stand no more.
As with most folks facing a life-threatening disease that is treatment resistant, her medical bills overwhelmed her resources and she was subsequently unable to plan for funeral costs.
The funds raised from your donation will go towards covering the funeral costs, first and foremost. Any remaining funds will be used to pay for the tens of thousands of dollars of debt that Leslie has accumulated during her battle with cancer.
The total cost of the funeral is a little over $12,000. The family is currently organizing and will be contributing to a portion of the expenses.
