Leslie (Les)'s obituary

Leslie (Les) Warren Steele passed peacefully, after a short battle with illness, on January 7th, 2018 surrounded by family and loved ones.
He was born April 23rd, 1945 in Elwood City, PA to Warren Harding Steele and Lucy Jeanette (Jean) Steele (nee Sheets), the first of five children. He was a graduate of West High School in Torrance, CA in 1964 – the first graduating class of the brand new school. After high school Les enlisted on October 4th, 1965 into the United States Airforce, soon thereafter he married his high school sweetheart Judith Belben on July 2nd, 1966. He completed a tour of duty in Vietnam as a munitions specialist; and received a Medal of Commendation for his extraordinary efforts. He was promoted to the rank of Sergeant (E4) in 1968, and honorably discharged in 1971. He continued his professional life at McGaw/B.Braun where he worked for 39 years having retired on September 30th, 2016. He was a proud member of the American Legion and the NRA throughout his adult life. He also shared his lifelong passions of golf and bowling with his family and friends.
He is survived by his two daughters Carrie Frank (m. Dirk Frank) and Tammie Hundley (m. Michael Hundley); his seven grandchildren Cameron Frank, Casandra Browne (nee Frank (m. David Browne)), Candice Frank, Catrina Frank, Breanna Hundley, Brittany Hundley, and Luke Burress (Frank); his one great grandchild Elianna Browne; and his four siblings Janice Fisher, Kathy Welsh, Ric Steele, and Eileen Trombly; among the many others who held him closely as a surrogate father and grandfather. He was greatly loved and cherished by his family, friends, and co-workers.
