Lesia's obituary
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Lesia "Mame" Layton, fondly known as Mame, but who preferred to be called Lesia. Born on September 2, 1963, Lesia passed away peacefully on May 17, 2024.
Lesia is survived by her son, John Seigart, daughter-in-law, Jennifer Bailey, and ex-partner, Johnny Seigart. She was predeceased by her mother, Margaret Doublin. Lesia's memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
Lesia was a woman of distinct tastes and simple pleasures. She found joy in the crunch of Lay's potato chips, the comforting taste of chicken and stuffing, and the refreshing sips of Mountain Dew and tea. She had a knack for Crosswords and word searches, and spent her leisure time engrossed in Lifetime TV shows or watching any of Daniel Steel's movies. She loved to play solitary on her phone, a testament to her independent spirit and sharp mind.
Not one to shy away from unconventional hobbies, Lesia found excitement in dumpster diving. She turned this unusual activity into a treasure hunt and reveled in the surprises each adventure brought. Her favorite local haunt was the laundromat, where she was a regular face among the community.
Friends and family would describe Lesia as a little firecracker - full of vigor, zest, and a spark that could ignite the dullest occasions. She touched the lives of many, whether they had known her for a minute or a hundred minutes. Her impact was universal and lasting.
We remember Lesia today and every day, cherishing the moments we shared and the love we received from her. Even though she has left us, her spirit remains in our hearts and minds, etching her memory in our souls forever.
