Leonard's obituary

Leonard “Len” E. Pietrzak passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 20, 2024 at the home of his son and daughter in law where he resided.  Leonard  was born on April 18, 1927 in Kingston, PA, to Anthony and Sophie Pietrzak.  After joining the Navy and upon his return home, he married Diane in 1955 and they went on to have three sons and a daughter.  A man of simple pleasures, Leonard loved nothing more then a glass of wine while watching his favorite TV show, The Walton’s, or catching a game of his beloved Philadelphia Phillies.  A loyal fan til the end, he often shared that his favorite recreational activity was watching his Phillies.  One of his greatest accomplishments was the full and long life he led, reaching the remarkable age of 96.

He was employed for over 30 years with the Budd Company in Philadelphia.  Leonard loved spending time with people and telling them stories.  He had a wonderful way of remembering details of events.

Leonard was predeceased by his parents, his beloved Diane, his sons Michael and Leonard (Lenny) and 2 of his 3 sisters, Helen and Eleanor.

Leonard is survived by his daughter Mary (Dave), son Joseph (Diane), grandchildren Elizabeth,  Sean (Donna), Joseph Jr. (Aaryn),  Leonard Jr.,     Jennifer ( Mark), Anthony, Danielle (Joseph),  Nicole, Paige (Matthew) & Christine.  Great grandchildren Michael, Brielle, Nathan, Makenna, Joseph III, Irelynn, Ashton, Aislynn, Trudy and Delaney, sister Irene and his cherished partner Jean.

Family and friends whose lives Leonard touched are invited on April 18, 2024 to the Honorable Washington Crossing National Cemetery at 11 am for military funeral honors as Leonard is laid to rest.

We bid farewell to Leonard, a man whose legacy will continue in the hearts of those who loved him.  His spirit lives on in the stories, laughter and love he shared with his family and friends.  His memory will forever be a beacon of strength and courage.
