Leona Powell-Smith, 66, passed away unexpectedly on March 31, 2020.
Born in Helena, Arkansas February 5, 1954. Leona was the daughter of George Powell Jr. and Arnetsia Williams (Arneste Powell).

Leona lived most of his life in Chicago, IL where she met and married Perry Smith Sr.. She was a retired bus driver with Rapid Bus Lines. Later in life Leona moved to Mattson, IL with her husband Perry Smith Sr. and on to Richton Park, IL. where she passed on.

Leona was preceded in death by her daughter: Paulette Powell, husband: Perry Smith Sr., grandmother: Eva Williams (Evie Brown), grandfather: Jettie Williams, mother: Arnetsia Williams (Arneste Powell), father: George Powell Jr.,uncle: Freddie J. Williams, uncle: (Lorenzo Williams) Leorenzo Williams, uncle: Oscar Williams, brother: Leroy Powell, brother: (Lorenzo Powell) Leorenzo Powell, brother: Robert L. Powell, brother: Don Neal Powell, brother: Darril Hampton Sr., sister: Jearl D. Powell, sister: Birth Powell (Bertha Powell-Washington) and her son Charlie Chaffia Jr., and brother-in-law: Henderson Thomas.

She is survived by one daughter, one son, two grandsons, one great-grand daughter, one great-grand son and a host of family and friends to mourn her passing.
