Wes' Committal Service Confirmation - Fort Logan National Cemetery

Address: 4400 W Kenyon Ave, Denver, CO 80236

Date: 6/20/23

Time: 9:00 am - Please arrive at least 15 minutes early in Staging Area A.

For anyone who would like to attend. Wes, thank you for your service.

My heart is broken over the loss of my good friend of 48 years who was introduced to me by my brother Jim Cole in Zaire.  When Wes moved to Ohio, we shared back yards and he became like family to me.  He was one of the smartest individuals I have ever known.  His love of the military was unique, he was kind, funny and loyal.  Wes loved to discuss history and politics and his recall of historical facts was beyond impressive.  We shared so many good times together as good friends, neighbors, co-workers and with our circle of family and friends.  I am so lucky to have known Wes and shared experiences which will remain with me forever.  Rest in peace my dear friend - I will miss you always. With love, Carol MacFarland

During our visits, Wes enjoyed knowing the different activities that my family would be involved in. Wes also liked knowing how my job in the medical field was treating me . The topic Wes enjoyed discussing the most was on politics which he was very passionate about. It always amazed me how much information Wes knew on our Country’s history and politics! I'm glad he is finally at rest. Wes thank you for your service and God bless you.

Wes was always interested in and asking about what I was learning in school and later on how work was going for me. I enjoyed asking him about what new books he was reading and of course, we talked politics. When I worked in downtown Denver, in the summers he would take the light rail down and come meet me for lunch, especially for his birthday. He was a true patriot and American hero. I am glad that you are resting and have found peace. Now you and Bud Bud are together again. Love ya, Wes.

I have been friends with Wes since 1965. Wes brought me into the Judo program for the City of Boulder Recreation Dept. as an instructor before he went off to the military. We attended the University of Colorado and both taught Judo after his return from military service. Wes was my Best Man at my wedding in 1984. We had a lot of fun over the years, and I will miss him dearly. My condolences to Rica and family.
