Leon's obituary

LEON PAUL HUBER, 60, of Washington Township MI, passed away unexpectedly on April 12, 2020, with his wife at his side.

Leon was born in Rochester, Michigan, to Leta and Edward Huber.
He graduated from Romeo High School in 1978 and spent most of his life in Macomb County. He is survived by his siblings Dwaine, Kathy, Ed, Larry, Randy and Joanne. He is also survived by his wife Marsha Huber and sons Tyler Swamba and Brandon Ramer, as well as his beloved grandchildren Enzo and Elaine Swamba and Myra, Kolton, and Zoey Ramer.

Leon was a man of many talents, hobbies, and much love. He loved his wife for 29 years. He was a master hunter and fisherman. Those who knew him well looked forward to his hunting stories during deer season. And while he was sometimes very stubborn, Leon was also respectful of others and made many friends and acquaintances throughout his life. He would buy tens of pounds of fruit from the Amish to make delicious canned jams for friends and family and even people at work. When he had a successful hunt, it meant amazing homemade jerky for all.

Another thing about Leon was how great he was with kids. While he never had biological children, he raised 2 boys with his wife. Many of his friends children called him Uncle Leon and treated him as family. To his grandchildren though, he preferred to be called Papa. They will surely miss their Papa and all the joy he brought into their lives.

Because of the stay home and stay safe order, we plan to have a memorial party for Leon early this summer at a friend's property, when it is safe to do so.
