Pink Moon

Pink Moon
Watching you slip away
was like watching the moon wane,
a power so large
directing us fiercely
unapologetically.

We were blown like cherry blossoms
blessed and cursed by the first breath of spring,
the ring of change
and impossible truths.

Blessed and cursed by our own human-ness
our fragility,
our strength,
our hope,
everything feeling like too much or too little
as we whirl in the winds of our grief.

I cannot grasp the moon,
hold it tightly and so close.
I can only admire and surrender
to the will of our world.

Watching you slip away
was like watching the moon,
I am honoured by your magnificent presence
that is here and then gone.

We look up to the sky
and how small we are,
yet how precious and enormous
every moment we love.
