Lenora's obituary
We mourn the loss of Lenora Begley, a beacon of light in our community, who departed this life on March 16, 2025 at the age of 100 years young. Born on December 15, 1924, Lenora lived a full and vibrant life, spreading warmth wherever she went. Her friendly demeanor and zest for life left an enduring impression on all who knew her.
In 1950, Lenora married the love of her life, Wild Bill Begley, who predeceased her in 2016. She lived her life as a devoted mother and wife. Lenora and Bill lived in various cities and states while Bill served in the Military and after his retirement.
She leaves behind her daughters Polly, Yvonne, and Eileen Begley; her sons Wild Bill Begley Jr. and Phillip Begley; and her cherished grandchildren Jade, Suzhen, Rosemarie, and Raiden Begley. They are a testament to her spirit, and while they mourn her loss, they also celebrate her life and the lessons she passed on to them. She was predeceased by her son, Henry Begley.
One of the important lessons Lenora bestowed upon her loved ones was to 'Give Flowers to the Living,' a philosophy taught to her by her own mother. She lived by these words, always putting others before herself, and spreading love and kindness wherever she went.
Lenora was a devout attendee at Saint Anthony of Padua, Fresno, where she found solace, guidance, and a community of faith and support. She attended St. Rita Catholic Indian Mission Church in Squaw Valley previous to moving to Fresno. Her faith was a significant part of her life and influenced her actions and decisions, adding depth and meaning to her everyday living.
Lenora loved to travel whenever she could. She traveled to Kentucky and Indiana to see her relatives and enjoyed Disneyland, Vegas, and other destinations. She enjoyed watching Professional Bull Riders and even went to see the PBR Championships in Vegas a couple of years. Her other favorite pastime was spending quality time with her nieces, nephews, and grandchildren. Many of her family knew her as “Aunt Noe.” Their shared moments of joy, laughter, and love will remain a treasured memory.
As we bid farewell to our beloved Lenora, we remember her as a symbol of strength, love, and kindness. Her legacy will be carried forward by the lives she touched, and the love she shared will continue to resonate in the hearts of those who knew her.
